2026 Stearns Cup Results 🏆

⛳️ A Weekend of Camaraderie and Competition — Thank You NGC!

Over the weekend, we played the 2026 Stearns Cup, adding another memorable chapter to a cherished NGC tradition! Rain forced us to postpone our first attempt and threatened us again, but by Sunday afternoon, sunshine and the spirit of camaraderie at the heart of this tournament were both in abundance.

A huge round of thank yous to everyone who helped make the weekend such a success.

First, thank you to Steve, our superintendent, and his crew for their incredible work getting the course ready to play. Steve’s expertise and his team’s diligence on tournament mornings make such a meaningful difference. It’s amazing to see how much the course has improved in just a few short weeks. We’re excited by the progress we’ve seen and the direction the course is headed as we look toward next season!

Thank you to Tiffany, Ryan, and Danny for everything they do — on tournament days and every day — to keep things organized and running smoothly around the Pro Shop. And thank you to Christine, the heartbeat of NGC, for doing it all around the club, including keeping everyone refreshed with the beverage cart on Sunday!

Thank you to Meilani for thoughtfully coordinating with the Stearns family and for her amazing work showcasing our champions in the Pro Shop. Having Mr. Stearns’s two grandsons at the club to hit ceremonial tee shots in his honor was truly special.

Thank you to Scotty Kimmel for sharing the history behind this tournament and for being an NGC legend in his own right! And thank you to Chuck for the wonderful photos that will help these memories live on long after the weekend.

To all those who’ve continued to show up for NGC through the ups and downs, thank you. It’s this group coming together for the tournament and throughout the year that makes NGC special.

And finally, thank you to Mr. Stearns. Your legacy at NGC lives on in the spirit of competition and camaraderie we share, and in the love of the game that brings us together. Your impact reaches far beyond our club — from your family and the NGC community to the Ryder Cup and the highest levels of competition at the USGA. Your legacy is imprinted on the game we all love.

Tournament Results 🏆

When it came to the golf, competition and camaraderie ruled the weekend and, as always, the tournament reminded us just how much fun team golf truly is!

In the net division, two teams tied at 12 under to share the championship, both putting together stellar performances. The Mulligan Kings—Viktor Grinev & Mike Reynard—closed with a remarkable 6-under-net run over their final six holes, moving from -6 to -12 and added their names to the Cup for the third time. Meanwhile, Beer Pressure—Matt Nolan & Matt Doherty—put on a master class in ham-and-egg teamwork. Highlights included a tremendously clutch par save by Matt D. on the 34th hole of the weekend followed by a beautiful gross birdie by Matt N. on the 35th to secure the tie at -12. Fantastic playing, gents — enjoy your year with the Cup!

On the gross side, James Hsiao & Weston Happ completed the drive for five, finishing the weekend at a fitting 5-under par. We’re not sure whether their Stearns Cup win total has anything to do with the size of James’s family, but having the kids there on Sunday afternoon has become a very special part of the tradition — along with the incredible signs they make every year!*
