Men’s Night 8/20 or 8/21 — Tee Ladder on the Front 9

For Men’s Night this week, we’ll be playing our Tee Ladder on the Front 9 with Stableford Scoring and Net & Gross Skins added in. Players may play their Men’s Night rounds on either Thursday 8/20 or Friday 8/21 and participants will appear on whichever final leaderboard (Net or Gross) gives them the higher finish. The Net and Gross skins game is free for all Men’s Night competitors. Here’s how it works:

All players start on the Red Tees for Hole #1. If you make a gross par or better on a hole, you move up the tee ladder for the next hole:

•  The “tee ladder” progresses from Red Tees  → Gold Tees  → White Tees  → Blue Tees 

If you make a gross bogey or worse, you reset and return to the Red Tees for the next hole.

Progression Example:

• Make gross bogey on Hole #1 → Remain on Red Tees for Hole #2
• Make gross par on Hole #2 → Move to Gold Tees on Hole #3
• Make gross par again on Hole #3 → Move to White Tees on Hole #4
• Make gross bogey on Hole #4 → Return to Red Tees for Hole #5
• Make gross birdie on Hole #5 → Move to Gold Tees on Hole #6
• and so on…

Rule of 75 Players (age + handicap index ≥ 75): The highest tee you can reach is the White Tees. Even if you continue making par or better, you will not move back to the Blue Tees.

Scoring:

• We will have both Gross and Net leaderboards using Stableford scoring.
• Net scores will be calculated using players’ Front 9 Gold Tee handicaps.

Match Play Next Round Deadline: Sunday, August 30th

The deadline for our current round of matches is Sunday, August 30th. Please email [email protected] or call the Pro Shop (301) 292-1100 if you need your opponent’s contact information.

If your match has been completed, please make sure the results have been reported to [email protected] so we can update the online brackets.

One important note as matches continue deeper into the season: Match Play is intended for active NGC members through the conclusion of the tournament in October. If your membership plans have changed and you do not expect to remain a member through that time, please let us know and, as a courtesy to the bracket and the remaining players, allow your scheduled opponent in the current round to move forward. We certainly understand that circumstances can change and appreciate everyone’s help keeping the tournament moving along fairly and smoothly.

2026 NGC Cup — Saturday, August 29th

Sign-ups continue for the 2026 NGC Cup which is set to be played Saturday, August 29th. Please sign up individually at https://mga.golf/ngc-cup

All participants must have active GHIN handicaps and meet the MGA 2-in-30 posting requirement. Please only sign up if you are 100% certain you can play. If your schedule changes and you are unable to play, please email [email protected] to let us know.

For this event, the full field will be divided equally into 2 teams using handicaps for a Ryder Cup style competition. 2-man (2v2) matches will be set up for each foursome using 2 players from each team. All points earned from each 2-man match will be totaled to determine a winning team.

Men’s Night 7/30 — Stableford Back 9

For Men’s Night this week, we’ll be playing our Stableford format on the Back 9. Points will be awarded based on the standard Stableford scoring breakdown using 100% of individual Back 9 handicaps.

• Net Double Bogey or higher: 0 points
• Net Bogey: 1 point
• Net Par: 2 points
• Net Birdie: 3 points
• Net Eagle: 4 points, and so on.

All players play from white tees and Rule of 75 players (age + handicap >= 75) may play golds. Please record gross scores for all holes on scorecards with names clearly marked and turn in completed cards to the Pro Shop. Points Chase points will be awarded to the top one-third of the field for Stableford placement.

Men’s Night 7/23 — All Gold Tees on the Front 9 with Net + Gross Leaderboards

For Men’s Night this week, with the Red, White, and Blue tees set to get the love this weekend for our RWB Tournament, we’ll be putting the Gold Tees to use for Men’s Night and playing All Gold Tees on the Front 9 with both Net and Gross leaderboards in play. Net scores will be calculated using 100% of Front 9 Gold Tee handicaps.

All players play from Gold Tees and Rule of 75 players (age + handicap >= 75) may play Reds if they choose (with their Red Tee handicaps). Please record gross scores for all holes on scorecards with names clearly marked and turn in completed cards to the Pro Shop.

2026 Red, White & Blue Tournament 🇺🇸

Sign-ups continue for our second MGA major of the year, the Red, White & Blue Tournament, which is set to be played this Saturday and Sunday, July 25th + 26th with a 9:30 AM shotgun start both days. Please sign up via the online registration portal. 

The format for our RWB Tournament is 2-day, 36-hole, individual stroke play with both gross and net prizes. Each day the course will be set up with a different combination of red, white, and blue tees. To compete in the NET division, all players must meet the MGA 2-in-30 handicap posting requirement.

MGA Red, White & Blue: Saturday and Sunday, July 25th + 26th
