As we move into Club Championship week, we’d like to pass on a round of applause to all those who competed in the NGC Senior Club Championship on Saturday. It was great to see so many MGAers both competing and there to watch the exciting golf that unfolded. A big congratulations to Scott Kimmel on capturing the 2022 Senior Club Championship and to Chris Kusseling for winning the net division.

This invite-only tournament field will be made up of the top amateur men’s and senior men’s golfers from around the country who have won their club championship during the 2022 calendar year. Last season, as the 2021 Senior Men’s Club Champion, Jim Prendergast played to represent NGC in the PGA National Club Championship.
2022 NGC Club Championship Format
The Club Championship is competed with individual stroke play over 36 holes. Tee times will be assigned each day and the field will be broken into both Gross & Net Flights.
Players with handicap indexes of 5.0 and below are automatically entered into the Championship Flight which will be competed from blue tees using gross scoring. Players with handicaps above 5.0 have the option of joining the Championship Flight by emailing [email protected] to opt in.
The number of Net Flights will depend on the overall number of participants and these flights will be competed from white tees using net scoring. 100% of handicaps apply for Net Flights and the Rule of 75 applies to all Net Flights — players whose Age + Handicap >= 75 may play gold tees. All Net Flight participants must have active GHIN handicaps and meet the MGA 2-in-30 posting requirement.
