The MGA Season Starts with Men’s Night this Thursday, April 3rd
We have officially made it to the opening week of the 2025 MGA season! To get things started this Thursday, we’ll be playing our Stableford format on the Front 9. In addition to the Stableford competition, we’ll be playing a free-to-enter, Gross/Net skins game (with credit book payouts from the MGA) based on all submitted Front 9 Stableford scorecards.
Men’s Night Groups
Men’s Night rounds may be played at any time on Thursdays with an accompanying MGA member. Men’s Night groups are formed in an impromptu manner with MGA players who arrive around the same time on Thursdays playing together. Most players play their Men’s Night 9-holes around 3PM but we most often have guys playing throughout the day, including some players going off early and some players playing later in the afternoon / early evening. For Thursday, several MGA Board members will be around the club and course most of the afternoon to introduce themselves to new MGA members and we can help facilitate groups. We hope to keep the camaraderie going after Men’s Night rounds this season with poker and/or other shenanigans around the clubhouse!
GHIN Handicaps
All Men’s Night play (and MGA tournament play) is with handicaps which means all players will need an active GHIN handicap account. If you do not have a GHIN account, let us know at [email protected] and we’ll help you get one set up with the club. Starting April 15th, we will maintain our 2-in-30 posting requirement for 2025. To compete in MGA net competitions with your GHIN handicap, players must maintain 36-holes of posted scores (either full 18 or 9-hole scores) from NGC in the last 30 days or contact [email protected] for an exemption. Stableford Format for Thursday
For this week, points will be awarded based on the standard Stableford scoring breakdown using 100% of individual Front 9 handicaps.
- Net Double Bogey or higher: 0 points
- Net Bogey: 1 point
- Net Par: 2 points
- Net Birdie: 3 points
- Net Eagle: 4 points, and so on.
All players play from white tees and Rule of 75 players (age + handicap >= 75) may play golds. Please record gross scores for all holes on scorecards with names clearly marked and turn in completed cards to the Pro Shop. There is no entry fee for Men’s Night. Points Chase points will be awarded to the top one-third of the field for Stableford placement and credit book will be awarded to skins winners.
