NGC Cup Sign-Ups Continue

2025 NGC Cup — Saturday, August 23rd

Sign-ups ​c​ontinue for the 2025 NGC Cup which is set to be played Saturday, August 23rd. Please sign up individually at https://mga.golf/ngc-cup​ — Let’s have a great day of camaraderie, competition, and fun​. DJ Low Japan will be in the house!

All participants must have active GHIN handicaps and meet the MGA 2-in-30 posting requirement. Please only sign up if you are 100% certain you can play. If your schedule changes and you are unable to play, please email [email protected] to let us know.

For this event, the full field will be divided equally into 2 teams using handicaps for a Ryder Cup style competition. 2-man (2v2) matches will be set up for each foursome using 2 players from each team. All points earned from each 2-man match will be totalled to determine a winning team.

MGA Monday Mix

Men’s Night 7/31 extended through 8/6

Quick reminder that we have extended our Men’s Night submission window for 7/31 to run through this Wednesday, 8/6. We will keep the same Choose Your Own RWB on the Back 9 Competition Rules in place through the August 6th extended window.

Please turn all scorecards into the pro shop with “Men’s Night 7/31” clearly marked or send a photo of your completed card to [email protected] before Wednesday, August 6th @ 9:00 PM 

Men’s Night 8/7 — Shootout Back 9 @ 4:45 PM

For Men’s Night this week, the 2nd edition of our 2025 Shootout series is here! For our Shootout format on the Back 9, all players meet on the 10th tee at 4:45 PM — please be a few minutes early (around the range / putting green by 4:30 PM) so we can organize everyone’s Back 9 course handicaps. 

As a full group (think 25-some), all competitors play #10 together (please mark your ball). The low 9 net scores on #10 progress to the 11th tee. A chip-off will be used to break any ties for who proceeds to #11 (top 9 low net from #10).

On holes 11-18, we eliminate 1 player with the highest net score on each hole: i.e. 9 competitors play #11, 8 competitors play #12…all the the way down to 2 players on the 18th hole. Chip-offs decide tied-for-high-score holes.

The last man standing after #18 has been played is the Shootout winner. 

Match Play Sweet 16 — 9/1 Deadline 

Congrats to all those who have advanced to the Sweet 16 in both the Main and Wildcard brackets for this year’s Match Play tournament. Our next deadline is September 1st for all Sweet 16 matches. Please be in touch with your opponent ASAP about scheduling your match. Contact [email protected] or call the Pro Shop (301) 292-1100 if you need your opponent’s contact information.

2025 MGA Shamble Results

​2-Man Team Shamble — July 26th, 2025

22 teams came out on Saturday for some Shamble camaraderie and competition and, once again, team golf (and premium tee shots!) proved to be as fun as it gets, with birdies, eagles, and even a net albatross lighting up the scorecards.

In the end, one team rose to the top of the Net Division with a tremendous -15 score of 57. Very well played to the dynamic duo of Hi Low Bingo — Jack Sullivan & Brad Adams!

In the Gross Division, two teams carded matching 6-under 66s to share 1st place honors. Congrats to Dorkless — Matt Doherty & Calvin Harkless — and Actually… — Patrick Escalambre & Weston Happ!

And a special thank you to Donnee, who recently announced his retirement but will still be around for tournaments through the rest of 2025. We are all incredibly grateful for all his many years of dedication to the club — thank you, Donnee! More to come soon on a well-deserved day of celebration in his honor.

Attached you’ll find the groups + starting holes for tomorrow’s MGA 2-Man Team Shamble Tournament which will begin with a 9:30 AM shotgun start. Additionally, you’ll find the Tournament Rules Sheet which includes the general MGA tee locations.

Tournament Scoring

All tournament scoring will be handled via the NGC App. The app can be found here for iPhone and here for Android. All groups will be pre-loaded into the App and we ask that each group use the App to track their group’s scores.

Men’s Night 7/24 + Match Play Deadline 7/27

Men’s Night 7/24 — Stableford Front 9

For Men’s Night this week, we’ll be playing our Stableford format on the Front 9. Points will be awarded based on the standard Stableford scoring breakdown using 100% of individual Front 9 handicaps.

  • Net Double Bogey or higher: 0 points
  • Net Bogey: 1 point
  • Net Par: 2 points
  • Net Birdie: 3 points
  • Net Eagle: 4 points, and so on.

All players play from white tees and Rule of 75 players (age + handicap >= 75) may play golds. Please record gross scores for all holes on scorecards with names clearly marked and turn in completed cards to the Pro Shop. There is no entry fee for Men’s Night. Points Chase points will be awarded to the top one-third of the field for Stableford placement.

Match Play Round 2 + Wildcard Bracket — 7/27 Deadline

The deadline for Main Bracket Round 2 and Wildcard Bracket Round 1 matches is set for this Sunday, July 27th. Please be in touch with your opponent ASAP about scheduling your match. Contact [email protected] or call the Pro Shop (301) 292-1100 if you need your opponent’s contact information.
