MGA 2-Man Team Shamble — Saturday, June 20th

Sign-ups continue for our next weekend MGA 1-Day tournament, the 2-Man Team Shamble, which is set to be played on Saturday, Ju​ne ​20th with a 9:30 AM shotgun start. Please sign up as a team of two and, if you are in need of a partner, let us know at [email protected] and we will help to pair you up.​ All players must be MGA members.

For our 2-Man Shamble format, both players tee off, pick the best tee-shot, and each man then plays their own ball into the hole from the chosen tee shot location. Individual best ball scoring determines your team score for the hole for both gross and net.

MGA Monday Medley: Men’s Night, Match Play, 2-Man Shamble

Men’s Night 6/4 — 1-Man Scramble Back 9 

For Men’s Night this week, we’ll be playing our 1-Man Scramble format on the Back 9. For this format, you get 2 shots off the tee and choose the best one, you then get 2 shots from the next position, choose the best, and so on until you have completed the hole.

Please record gross, individual scramble scores on scorecards with names clearly marked and turn in all completed cards to the Pro Shop. 50% of Back 9 course handicaps apply to calculate net scores — low net score wins. 

Match Play Round 1 Deadline

The deadline for Round 1 matches in the Main Bracket is this Sunday, June 7.

All players should have contacted their opponent by now and made a plan to play their match before the deadline. Please contact [email protected] or call the Pro Shop at (301) 292-1100 if you need your opponent’s contact information.

Summer A-Team Qualifying — May 30th through June 21st

NGC Summer A-Team Qualifying Now Open

The 202​6 Summer A-Team matches​ are set to begin with pool play ​June ​27th, ​June 28th & ​July 1​1th and we are opening up A-Team qualifying to run from ​May ​30th through June ​2​1st. Please see the attached sheet for qualifying rules and submit all completed A-Team scorecards to the Pro Shop.

A-Team Qualifying Notes:

  • A-Team qualifier rounds must be played from Blue Tees and attested by an accompanying MGA member. 
  • Lift, clean, and place in your own fairway. Rake and place in all bunkers.
  • Please turn your scorecard into the Pro Shop following the round with names clearly marked.​

Men’s Night 5/28 — Stableford Front 9

For Men’s Night this week, we’ll be playing our Stableford format on the Front 9. Points will be awarded based on the standard Stableford scoring breakdown using 100% of individual Front 9 handicaps.

  • Net Double Bogey or higher: 0 points
  • Net Bogey: 1 point
  • Net Par: 2 points
  • Net Birdie: 3 points
  • Net Eagle: 4 points, and so on.

All players play from white tees and Rule of 75 players (age + handicap >= 75) may play golds. Please record gross scores for all holes on scorecards with names clearly marked and turn in completed cards to the Pro Shop. Points Chase points will be awarded to the top one-third of the field for Stableford placement.

For Men’s Night this week, we’ll be playing our 3-Club Challenge format on the Back 9. Before the round, each player will select 3 clubs + their putter to use exclusively. 100% of Back 9 course handicaps apply. All players play from white tees and Rule of 75 players (Age + Handicap >= 75) may play golds. Points will be awarded based on the standard Stableford scoring breakdown using 100% of individual Back 9 handicaps.

2026 Memorial Cup Results 🇺🇸

Memorial Cup

Over the weekend, this year’s edition of our Memorial Cup turned out to be a great one. Before we get to the results, we’d like to thank Tiffany, Meilani, and Danny for their help in the Pro Shop, and all of our MGA members for coming out and making the weekend a success.

Most importantly, we play this tournament as a way to remember the true meaning of Memorial Day and to honor the women and men who gave the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country. We hope everyone is able to enjoy the holiday with the people they love. 

Our course may be far from perfect, but the little things like E9s after tournament play and “No Wake” zones are the kind of things you just can’t find anywhere else. And that’s something worth remembering, too.

Tournament Results

On the Net side, 36 holes were not enough to crown our champion, and an exciting 3-hole playoff followed regulation play. Chuck Roster and Andrew Neill, who both finished at -4 net, headed back out to #1 with a very interested gallery in tow. After tying the first two holes, Andrew was able to secure the victory on #3 and take home the championship. Well done, Mr. Neill!

In the Gross competition, Jared Powell started the day with a one-shot lead and left no doubt by the time he was done. Jared fired a stellar 2-under par 70 on Sunday, turning a narrow advantage into a dominant 7-shot victory. It was an impressive closing round under tournament pressure and a well-earned win from start to finish. Well played, Jared, and congratulations on capturing the 2026 Memorial Cup Gross Championship.

2026 Memorial Cup: Round 1 Groups + Tournament Rules

Attached you’ll find the groups + starting holes for Round 1 of this weekend’s Memorial Cup which will begin with a 9:30 AM shotgun start both days. Additionally, you’ll find the Tournament Rules Sheet which includes the general MGA Tee locations.

Tournament Scoring

All tournament scoring will be handled via the NGC App. The app can be found here for iPhone and here for Android. All groups will be pre-loaded into the App and we ask that each group uses the App to track their group’s scores.

Skins Pot 

We’ll be playing for Individual Skins both Gross and Net tomorrow. Each player may optionally Venmo $20 to @Weston-Happ to join the skins action.
