Sign-ups are now open for our first MGA major of the year, the Memorial Cup, which is set to be played Saturday and Sunday, May 16th + 17th with a 9:30 AM shotgun start both days. Please sign up via the online registration portal.
The format for Memorial Cup is 2-day, 36-hole stroke play with both gross and net divisions. To compete in the NET division, all players must meet the MGA 2-in-30 handicap posting requirement.

Our 2026 Match Play Main Bracket has been set by random draw and attached here. All players who do not win their Round 1 match in the Main Bracket will form our secondary Wildcard Bracket which will be drawn after all Round 1 matches have been completed.
The deadline for Round 1 matches in the Main Bracket is June 7th. Please be in touch with your Round 1 opponent ASAP about scheduling your match. Contact [email protected] or call the Pro Shop (301) 292-1100 if you need your opponent’s contact information.
Match Play Competition Notes
Match scheduling should be determined via direct communication between opponents.
Matches are to be played using standard, 18-hole, match play format.
All Match Play matches should be played from white tees. Rule of 75 players (age + handicap > 75) may play gold tees.
Prior to the start of a match, competitors must meet the MGA 2-in-30 handicap posting requirement. If a participant does not meet this requirement on the date of a scheduled match, the player who has not posted two 18-hole or combined rounds in the last 30 days will play as scratch (0 handicap) for that day’s match.
Please check in with the Pro Shop before starting your match so that handicap strokes for the match can be determined and finalized.

For Men’s Night this week, we’ll be playing our 1-Man Scramble format on the Front 9. For this format, you get 2 shots off the tee and choose the best one, you then get 2 shots from the next position, choose the best, and so on until you have completed the hole.
Please record gross, individual scramble scores on scorecards with names clearly marked and turn in all completed cards to the Pro Shop. 50% of Front 9 course handicaps apply to calculate net scores — low net score wins.

For Men’s Night this week, our Tee Ladder format is back. We’ll be playing the Back 9 and here’s how it works:
All players start on the Red Tees for Hole #10. If you make a gross par or better on a hole, you move up the tee ladder for the next hole:
The “tee ladder” progresses from Red Tees → Gold Tee → White Tee → Blue Tees
If you make a gross bogey or worse, you reset and return to the Red Tees for the next hole.
Progression Example:
Make gross bogey on Hole #10 → Remain on Red Tees for Hole #11
Make gross par on Hole #11 → Move to Gold Tees on Hole #12
Make gross par again on Hole #12 → Move to White Tees on Hole #13
Make gross bogey on Hole #13 → Return to Red Tees for Hole #14
Make gross birdie on Hole #14 → Move to Gold Tees on Hole #15
and so on…
Rule of 75 Players (age + handicap index ≥ 75): The highest tee you can reach is the White Tees. Even if you continue making par or better, you will not move back to the Blue Tees.
Scoring:
Net scores will be calculated using players’ Back 9 Gold Tee handicaps.
We will have both Gross and Net leaderboards using Stableford scoring:
Gross/Net Double Bogey or higher: 0 points
Gross/Net Bogey: 1 point
Gross/Net Par: 2 points
Gross/Net Birdie: 3 points
Gross/Net Eagle: 4 points, and so on.

On Saturday, the MGA weekend tournament season officially opened with the 2026 Play It Again, and it was a terrific way to kick things off. Thank you to all the MGA members and NGC staff who helped make the day such a success. Special thanks to Tiffany and Meilani for all of your help setting up and holding things down in the Pro Shop, to Christine for her support, and to Kim for the excellent work on the outside grill.
On the course, two very deserving champions emerged with commanding performances. In the Net Division, Torey Diggs posted an outstanding 55 net — matching the famed double-nickel total of another well-known golf obsessive — to cruise to a 5-shot victory. Not to be outdone, James Hsiao delivered a standout round of his own in the Gross Division, firing a 3-under 69, the only sub-par round of the day, to win by 5 shots himself. A great start to the tournament season, and well played by both our champions!
