Each day the course will be set up with a different combination of red, white, and blue tees. To compete in the NET division, all players must meet the MGA 2-in-30 handicap posting requirement.
MGA Red, White & Blue: Saturday and Sunday, June 28th + 29th Sign-Up Deadline: Thursday, June 26th @ 8:00 PM Cost: $30 — all participants must be MGA members Online Registration Portal: https://mga.golf/rwb-sign-up

For Men’s Night this week, the first edition of our 2025 Shootout series is here! For our Shootout format on the Front 9, all players meet on the 1st tee at 4:45 PM — please be a few minutes early (around the range / putting green by 4:30 PM) so we can organize everyone’s Front 9 course handicaps.
As a full group (think 25-some), all competitors play #1 together (please mark your ball). The low 9 net scores on #1 proceed to the 2nd hole. A chip-off will be used to break any ties for who proceeds to #2 (top 9 low net from #1).
On holes 2-9, we eliminate 1 player with the highest net score on each hole: i.e. 9 competitors play #2, 8 competitors play #3…all the the way down to 2 players on the 9th hole. Chip-offs decide tied-for-high-score holes.
The last man standing after #9 has been played is the Shootout winner.

The 2025 Summer A-Team matches are set to begin with pool play July 5th, 6th & 12th and we are opening up A-Team qualifying to run from June 7th through June 30th. Please see the attached sheet for qualifying rules and submit all completed A-Team scorecards to the Pro Shop.
A-Team Qualifying Notes:
A-Team qualifier rounds must be played from blue tees and attested by an accompanying MGA member.
Players must check in with the Pro Shop and declare their round as a qualifying round prior to start.
Play the ball DOWN EVERYWHERE and RAKE and PLACE for all bunkers. If your ball ends up in a bunker, you may lift, clean, rake and place within the bunker taking as much relief as necessary to place your ball on a playable bit of sand, no closer to the hole.
For Men’s Night this week, we’ll be playing our Chicago format on the Back 9. All players play from white tees and Rule of 75 players (age + handicap >= 75) may play golds. Please record gross scores for all holes on scorecards with names clearly marked and turn in all completed cards to the Pro Shop.
Chicago Format: Players start with a negative number of points (based on 18-hole course handicaps) then add positive points during their round. The idea is to get from the negative to the positive, clearing your “hurdle” by as many points as possible.

Men’s Night 5/29 — Vs. Scottie Scheffler at the Memorial Tournament
With Scottie set to tee it up at Jack’s tournament at Muirfield Village, we’ll all be taking on Scottie for Men’s Night this week. For each hole on the Front 9 at NGC on Thursday, you’ll compare your net score to Scottie’s on his live Front 9 for Round 1 at the Memorial Tournament. Using net scores relative to par, each time you tie him, you’ll earn 1 point. Each hole you beat him you’ll earn 2 points. When Scottie’s score (relative to par) is better than your net score (relative to par) on a hole, you get 0 points.
*If for any reason Scottie does not complete the Front 9 holes at the Memorial for his first round, we’ll use USA captain Keegan Bradley’s Front 9 score.

The 2025 edition of the Memorial Cup is in the books! Before we get to the results, a heartfelt thank you goes out to everyone who helped make the weekend a success. Thank you to Tiffany, Mark, Donnee, Terry, Pete, and the entire golf staff for keeping things running smoothly from start to finish. Huge thanks to Yohannes and the grounds crew for navigating a tough weather week and still managing to get the greens cut early Saturday morning. Shoutout to our new fleet of golf carts—every group stayed fully powered all weekend, by all reports! Thank you to all our MGA players, especially our newest members who made this their first weekend tournament.
And above all, we offer our deepest gratitude to the servicewomen and men who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country. Their courage and dedication are the reason we’re able to enjoy weekends like this one—together, on the course for the Memorial Cup.
When it came to the golf, we saw some great play in both the Gross and Net divisions and, when all was said and done, two very worthy champions emerged. In the Net division, with a very impressive Sunday round of gross 77, Chuck Roster captured victory at a final tally of -5 net. And on the Gross side of the leaderboard, Kyle Armstrong sealed the deal on the final hole to take the well deserved W. Very well played to both our 2025 Memorial Cup Champions!
Well played today everyone on what turned out to be a great day for golf after such a rainy week. Attached you’ll find the groups and starting holes for tomorrow’s Round 2.
Handicap Score Posting
We ask that all players post their own scores to GHIN from this weekend as Competition Scores from white tees (or gold for gold tee players).
