For Men’s Night this week, we’ll be playing our 3-Club Challenge format on the Back 9. Before the round, each player will select 3 clubs + their putter to use exclusively. 100% of Back 9 course handicaps apply. All players play from white tees and Rule of 75 players (Age + Handicap >= 75) may play golds.
Please clearly identify your chosen 3 clubs + putter to your playing partners before teeing off #10 (4 clubs total with putter as one of the four). Record gross scores for all holes on scorecards with names clearly marked and turn in all completed cards to the Pro Shop.

With Scottie slipping on the Green Jacket last night, one of the best golf weeks of the year is in the books. We’d like to, once again, say thank you to all our MGA members who came out on Thursday for our Masters Men’s Night and Champions Dinner as well as to all the MGAers who took part in the spring A-Team matches. On Saturday, the NGC A-Team took to the links both home and away to battle Turf Valley (and the wind!) in the second round of the MSGA State Team Championship. In the end, NGC did not advance out of the round of 32 but collected 6.5 hard fought points. Having proven that we have a lineup that can win matches, we’re very excited for what the summer WMGA A-Team Matches have in store! Look for the next round of A-Team qualifying starting in June.
Men’s Night 4/18 — 1-Man Scramble Front 9
To have some fun and get a bit of a warmup for our Play It Again format on Saturday, we’ll be playing our 1-Man Scramble format on the Front 9. For this format, you get 2 shots off the tee and choose the best one, you then get 2 shots from the next position, choose the best, and so on until you have completed the hole.
Please record gross, individual scramble scores on scorecards with names clearly marked and turn in all completed cards to the Pro Shop. 50% of Front 9 course handicaps apply to calculate net scores — low net score wins.

All Men’s Night play (and MGA tournament play) is with handicaps which means all players will need an active GHIN handicap account. If you do not have a GHIN account, let us know at [email protected] and we’ll help you get one set up with the club. Starting today, April 15th, we will maintain our 2-in-30 posting requirement for 2024. To compete in MGA net competitions with your GHIN handicap, players must maintain 36-holes of posted scores (either full 18 or 9-hole scores) from NGC in the last 30 days. Yesterday, the NGC A-Team took on GC at South River in their opening round matchup of the MSGA spring team match play tournament. With some impressive and gutty performances, our guys showed that our MGAers were ready to play. Our track proved to be a great home course advantage and, in the end, NGC won the match at a final tally of 11.5-6.5 points. The A-Team will take on Turf Valley in the round of 32 this coming Saturday, April 13th. Way to represent for Tantallon, boys!
Masters Men’s Night + MGA Champions Dinner
For this Thursday, April 11th, we invite all MGA members, especially all the new MGA members for the 2024 season, to come out for a great day of golf and celebration at the club. We’ll have the 2023 MGA Champions trophies to hand out that night so we hope to have a fantastic turnout.
Our Champions Dinner “Tapas y Pintxos” buffet (inspired by some other guy’s menu) will be available starting around 5:30 PM on April 11th. Mid-afternoon will be a great time to play your Masters-themed Men’s Night round — then come enjoy some food and camaraderie!
