Men’s Night 6/4 — 1-Man Scramble Back 9 

For Men’s Night this week, we’ll be playing our 1-Man Scramble format on the Back 9. For this format, you get 2 shots off the tee and choose the best one, you then get 2 shots from the next position, choose the best, and so on until you have completed the hole.

Please record gross, individual scramble scores on scorecards with names clearly marked and turn in all completed cards to the Pro Shop. 50% of Back 9 course handicaps apply to calculate net scores — low net score wins.

Match Play Round 1 Deadline

The deadline for Round 1 matches in the Main Bracket is this Sunday, June 7.

All players should have contacted their opponent by now and made a plan to play their match before the deadline. Please contact [email protected] or call the Pro Shop at (301) 292-1100 if you need your opponent’s contact information.

MGA 2-Man Team Shamble — Saturday, June 20th 

Sign-ups are now open for our next weekend MGA 1-Day tournament, the 2-Man Team Shamble, which is set to be played on Saturday, June 20th with a 9:30 AM shotgun start. Please sign up as a team of two and, if you are in need of a partner, let us know at [email protected] and we will help to pair you up. All players must be MGA members.

For our 2-Man Shamble format, both players tee off, pick the best tee-shot, and each man then plays their own ball into the hole from the chosen tee shot location. Individual best ball scoring determines your team score for the hole for both gross and net.

Men’s Night 5/14: Choose Your Own Adventure RWB Front 9 — Stableford Scoring Net & Gross

For this week, we’ll be playing our Red, White & Blue Tees format on the Front 9 but with a twist. Each player may select their own combination of red, white and blue tees to play as they proceed through their round. Over the course of their Front 9 holes, participants must play 3 holes from reds, 3 holes from whites, and 3 holes from blues. Aside from the 3 of each color stipulation, you may choose any combination of RWB tees you’d like and you do not need to play the same tee choices as your fellow group members. Players may make their tee selections live during their rounds as long as they play 3 holes from each color RWB tee during the 9.

Rule of 75 gold tee players (Age + Handicap >= 75) may select 3 red, 3 gold, and 3 white tee holes to play on the Front 9. (Please note on your card with “gold” next to your name.)

Net and Gross leaderboards using Stableford scoring will be in play with 100% of Front 9 white tee handicaps. Please record gross scores for all holes on scorecards with names clearly marked and turn in all completed cards to the Pro Shop. Scores should be posted as White Tees (and Gold Tees for Rule of 75 players).

2026 Memorial Cup Sign-Ups

Sign-ups close on Thursday at 8:00 PM for our first MGA major of the year, the Memorial Cup, which is set to be played this Saturday and Sunday, May 16th + 17th with a 9:30 AM shotgun start both days. Please sign up via the online registration portal. 
The format for Memorial Cup is 2-day, 36-hole stroke play with both gross and net divisions. To compete in the NET division, all players must meet the MGA 2-in-30 handicap posting requirement.

Men’s Night 5/7 — Chicago Back 9

For Men’s Night this week, we’ll be playing our Chicago format on the Back 9. All players play from white tees and Rule of 75 players (age + handicap >= 75) may play golds. Please record gross scores for all holes on scorecards with names clearly marked and turn in all completed cards to the Pro Shop.

Chicago Format: Players start with a negative number of points (based on 18-hole course handicaps) then add positive points during their round. The idea is to get from the negative to the positive, clearing your “hurdle” by as many points as possible.
