Men’s Night 4/24 — Stableford Back 9

For Men’s Night this week, we’ll be playing our Stableford format on the Back 9. Points will be awarded based on the standard Stableford scoring breakdown using 100% of individual Back 9 handicaps.

• Net Double Bogey or higher: 0 points
• Net Bogey: 1 point
• Net Par: 2 points
• Net Birdie: 3 points
• Net Eagle: 4 points, and so on.

All players play from white tees and Rule of 75 players (age + handicap >= 75) may play golds. Please record gross scores for all holes on scorecards with names clearly marked and turn in completed cards to the Pro Shop. There is no entry fee for Men’s Night. Points Chase points will be awarded to the top one-third of the field for Stableford placement.

2025 MGA Match Play Tournament — Sign-Ups close 4/24 @ 5PM

12 spots remain and sign-ups close on Thursday at 5PM for our season-long, NCAA-bracket-style, 2025 MGA Match Play Tournament. The cost to participate is $30 and the bracket will be set via a random draw on Thursday, April 24th. The field will be limited to the first 64 entrants so please sign up ASAP using the online registration portal. All players will be responsible for scheduling their own match dates and times in coordination with their opponents once the brackets have been drawn.

All participants will need valid handicaps that are active within the GHIN handicap system. Additionally, prior to the start of any given match, competitors must meet the MGA 2-in-30 handicap posting requirement. If a participant does not meet this requirement on the date of a scheduled match, the player who has not posted two 18-hole or combined rounds in the last 30 days will play as scratch (0 handicap) for that day’s match.

Men’s Night 4/17 — Chicago Front 9

For Men’s Night this week, we’ll be playing our Chicago format on the Front 9. All players play from white tees and Rule of 75 players (age + handicap >= 75) may play golds. Please record gross scores for all holes on scorecards with names clearly marked and turn in all completed cards to the Pro Shop.

Chicago Format: Players start with a negative number of points (based on 18-hole course handicaps) then add positive points during their round. The idea is to get from the negative to the positive, clearing your “hurdle” by as many points as possible.

MGA Play It Again Tournament — Saturday, April 19th

Sign-ups close on Thursday at 8PM for our first weekend event of the season, the 2025 Play It Again Tournament, which will be played Saturday, April 19th with a 9:30 AM shotgun start. All weekend MGA tournaments are open to full and weekday NGC members who have paid their $85 MGA dues for the year.

For this tournament, each player’s handicap is used to determine how many mulligans will be allotted during their round. Using their allotted mulligans, each player records their best possible gross score. Net scores will also be calculated by the scoring app for a Net Division. The Rule of 75 (Age + Handicap >= 75) applies for gold tee players. Please sign up using the online registration link.

All participants must meet the MGA 2-in-30 handicap posting policy.

​Masters Week is here!

With the 2025 Drive, Chip & Putt in the books and Live From on nearly 24/7, we have officially made it Masters week. And with Masters week, comes the MGA traditions of Masters Men’s Night and our Champions Dinner. For this Thursday, April 10th, we invite all MGA members, especially all the new MGA members for the 2025 season, to come out for a great day of golf and celebration at the club. We’ll have the 2024 MGA Champions trophies to hand out so we hope to have a fantastic turnout.

Our Champions Dinner buffet (with inspiration from some other guy’s menu) will be available starting around 5:30 PM on April 10th. Mid-afternoon will be a great time to play your Masters-themed Men’s Night round — then come enjoy some food and camaraderie!

A-Team Wrap-Up

On Saturday, the NGC A-Team took on Swan Point with all 24 players (6 2v2 matches) playing at National. With some great play across the board, we proved that home course advantage around our track is definitely a thing and our A-Team took a decisive 12-6 win to move into the round of 32.

Vs. University of Maryland on Sunday, with all 6 matches again hosted at NGC, our fortunes were not as great but overall it was an awesome weekend and one that already has us looking forward to the Summer A-Team season.
