On a gorgeous day at NGC, we had a fantastic turnout for our 1-Man Scramble challenge and it was great to see a bunch of new MGA members playing their first Men’s Night. In the end, 38 MGAers took to the Front 9 to determine if 2 shots were better than 1 and the answer was a resounding yes! After all the shots were completed, one man walked away with an awesome score of 29. Proving that he was his own best teammate, Will Keyes took home the well deserved victory for his 1st career Men’s Night win — well played sir!
Thank you all our MGA members who came out yesterday for our Masters Men’s Night and Champions Dinner — it is this group of guys who all truly love golf that makes NGC such a special place! A big thank you to Tsehaye and Donnee for the state of the course update, and to Christine, Mimi and all the NGC staff for a great night of hospitality. Does it get better than enjoying Tiras de Pollo Crujientes while watching golf until dark?! Congratulations once again to all our 2023 MGA Champions and we look forward to a fantastic season of champions in 2024.
On the course, 28 players came out for a battle vs. Tiger’s opening round Back 9 at Augusta which we all got to watch wrap up this morning! With bogeys on #14 and #18, Tiger made the scoring interesting and, in the end with a stellar round in which he did not lose a single hole to Tiger, one man came out victorious. Scoring 15 Vs. Tiger points, well played and congrats to Leo Goff, our 2024 Masters Men’s Night winner!
In the side-contests, new MGA member Brad Adams hit an absolute bomb on #11 to win the Long Drive contest and, rumor has it, it was only a 3-wood off the tee!
When it came to the Ball Skipping contest, laughs were had all around and one man hit the shot we were all trying for. With a great skip to 22 feet, well done Jay Aanrud!
Finally, in the Putting Contest, one man only needed one putt to knock it to 6 inches and capture the victory. Great putt Jim Sussmann!
