MGA 2-Man Team Shamble — Saturday, July 29th
Sign-ups are now open for our next weekend MGA 1-Day tournament, the 2-Man Team Shamble, which is set to be played on Saturday, July 29th with a 9:30 AM shotgun start. Please sign up as a team of 2 and, if you are in need of a partner, let us know at [email protected] and we will help to pair you up.
For our 2-Man Shamble format, both players tee off, pick the best tee shot, and each man then plays their own ball into the hole from the chosen tee shot location. Individual best ball scoring determines your team score for the hole for both gross and net.
2-Man Team Shamble: Saturday, July 29th
Cost: $20 for all MGA Members
Online Registration Portal: https://mga.golf/2023-Shamble/
Registration Deadline: Thursday, July 27th @ 8:00 PM

Men’s Night 6/29 — Shootout Front 9 @ 4:45 PM
For Men’s Night this week, the 2nd edition of the 2023 Shootout series is here! For our Shootout format on the Front 9, all players meet on the 1st tee at 4:45 PM — please be a few minutes early (around the range / putting green by 4:30 PM) so we can organize everyone’s Front 9 course handicaps.
As a full group (think 25-some), all competitors play #1 together (please mark your ball). The low 9 net scores on #1 progress to the 2nd tee. A chip-off will be used to break any ties for who proceeds to #2 (top 9 low net from #1).
On holes 2-9, we eliminate 1 player with the highest net score on each hole: i.e. 9 competitors play #2, 8 competitors play #3…all the the way down to 2 players on the 9th hole. Chip-offs decide tied-for-high-score holes.
The last man standing after #9 has been played is the Shootout winner.
For this week’s Shootout festivities, our special guest Shootout referee is back—current Springfield Golf & Country Club member, 2019 Stearns Cup Champion, former MGA Competition Chair, fantastic match play opponent, and all-around great guy—Mr. Mike Lyons. Mike will handle all handicap calculations, rulings, and chip-off decisions for elimination.

Gentlemen —
Well done today everyone. To give us the best chance of having the greens cut in the morning before tomorrow’s Round 2, we’re going to move once again to a 10:00 AM shotgun start.
Attached you’ll find the pairings and starting holes for Round 2. Lunch will be served at the conclusion of play tomorrow.
Handicap Posting
We ask that all players post their own scores from today (and tomorrow) as White Tee Competition scores (and Gold Tee scores for Rule of 75 players). All score posting will be double checked as necessary early next week.

RWB Round 1 — Saturday, June 24: 10:00 AM
The MGA Red, White & Blue is a go for this morning starting at 10:00 AM with a shotgun start.
We’ll see everyone at the course soon —

Gentlemen —
With the heavy rainfall we’re currently experiencing at the course, we’re moving the shotgun start time to 10:00 AM for tomorrow morning. This will hopefully give the course a little extra time to dry and our maintenance crew some additional time in the morning as well. Breakfast burritos will be available starting at 9:00 AM.
See everyone in the morning!
