For Men’s Night this week, to have some fun at the end of the month and get ready for team events in July, we’ll be playing a 2-man team format with a shotgun start on the Back 9 @ 4:30 PM. For this format, 2-man teams will be selected via blind draw and each team will play best ball (play your own ball and pick the lowest net score for each hole for your team). For the blind draw, all participants will be divided into A and B groups with teams drawn so that each team consists of an A and a B player.
Please meet on the putting green at 4:15 PM so we can draw teams. 👍

The 2022 edition of the MGA Red, White & Blue tournament is officially in the books. We’d like to thank all the NGC staff who helped to make the weekend a great success. Thank you to all the players who came out to both compete and take part in the camaraderie that makes the MGA the great group that it is.
To turbocharge the weekend, on Saturday, Mike Helmer made a hole in one on #15 from 178 yards with a 6-iron. Cheers to you Mike!
After surviving white & blue Saturday and an all red tee Sunday shootout, when all was said and done, Jack Sullivan and Patrick Escalambre stood alone as our 2022 RWB Champions. In a dominant performance, with accurate drives and precision iron play, Jack Sullivan took the win in the Net Division at -25. In the Gross Division, after an exciting final few holes, Patrick Escalambre took the well deserved major victory at a very impressive score of -1 overall for the tournament. Well played!

25 players came out to make some 2s on Thursday and 1 man dominated all others. With a remarkable net score of 18, Brandon Patrick averaged a net birdie for all holes played. Will LIV pay him out? Well played Mr. Patrick!
It was great to see so many MGAers playing bonus holes yesterday before and after completing their Par 3 rounds. A group of golfers that love playing golf is truly what makes NGC the special place that it is (in addition to the air gun and towel dip). Here’s to an awesome RWB this weekend!
Attached you’ll find the groups + starting holes for tomorrow’s 1st Round of the MGA Red, White & Blue tournament which will begin with a 9:30 AM shotgun start. Additionally, you’ll find the Tournament Rules Sheet which includes the RWB tee locations for the weekend. This weekend, our tee setup is a nod to the days when the RWB was played over 3 days (with one full day of all red, all white and all blue tees over the 3 days).
Groups for Sunday’s 2nd Round will be determined by Round 1 results.

Scoring
All tournament scoring will be handled via the NGC App. The app can be found here for iPhone and here for Android. All groups will be pre-loaded into the App and we ask that each group uses the App to track their group’s scores.

The format for our RWB Tournament is 2-day, 36-hole, individual stroke play with both gross and net prizes. Each day the course will be set up with a different combination of red, white, and blue tees. To compete in the NET division, all players must meet the MGA 2-in-30 handicap posting requirement.

Competition Rules for Men’s Night 6/23
For this week, all Men’s Night competitors play the Front 9 Par 3 course using 66% of their Front 9 course handicaps.
Men’s Night rounds may be played at any time on Thursday with an accompanying MGA member. Please check in with the Pro Shop before you tee off. All players play from the MGA tee markers.
With the possibility of rain in the forecast, an overall assessment of course playability / availability throughout the day will be used to determine if there has been enough time for Men’s Night play to count submitted scores for an official result.
We will be playing the ball down EVERYWHERE. As the exception, all bunkers will be played as Ground Under Repair. If your ball ends up in a bunker, you may either play your ball as it lies (rake and place) or take free relief. To take relief, you must find the nearest point of complete relief outside the bunker and play from within one club-length of that point, no closer to the hole.
All recently seeded and re-sodded areas, drain trenches and exposed rocks added as topper for drainage systems should be considered Ground Under Repair from which free relief may be taken, no closer to the hole. Additionally, tire tracks, bare areas immediately adjacent to cart paths, and bare areas larger than a club length should be considered Ground Under Repair.
Any player who does not meet the MGA 2-in-30 handicap posting policy or has not submitted a written appeal for exemption prior to play to [email protected] if they are unable to meet the requirement, will automatically play as a 0 handicap for Men’s Night.
This week’s format DOES NOT allow for the completion of a 9-hole round that is valid for handicap posting purposes.
