For Men’s Nights, your 5 lowest scoring weeks (or weeks you missed) have been dropped.
For our 1-day, 80-point events (Play It Again, 2-Man Team Shamble, NGC Cup), 1 low points-earned tournament has been dropped with our Closing Day Stableford (10/29) still to be played.
The same applies to our multi-day / major tournaments (Match Play, Memorial Cup, RW&B, Club Championship) where 1 low has been dropped with Stearns Cup (10/15-10/16) still to be played.
Match Play points have been awarded through all current matches played and, for those who continue to advance, points will be updated as all remaining matches are completed.
Drops will continue to be updated through the remainder of this year’s Men’s Nights, the closing rounds of the Match Play tournament, and the playing of our final 2 weekend tournaments in October. An exciting finish to the 2022 Points Chase is in store!

22 players came out on the 1st day of Fall for a Stableford showdown on the Front 9 and the elements corresponded with the change of season to a T (and a tee). When all the points had been counted, 2 men scored impressive 20 point tallies to share 1st place honors this week. Well played Jack Sullivan and Steve Naugle on the Men’s Night win! We’d also like to congratulate Patrick Escalambre on shooting his age on the Front 9 on his birthday, Happy Birthday sir!

Net Birdie: 3 points
Net Eagle: 4 points, and so on.

Competition Rules for Men’s Night 9/22
For this week, all Men’s Night competitors play the Front 9 using 100% of their Front 9 course handicaps.
Men’s Night rounds may be played at any time on Thursday with an accompanying MGA member. Please check in with the Pro Shop before you tee off. All players play from white tees and Rule of 75 players (Age + Handicap >= 75) may play golds.
We will be playing the ball down EVERYWHERE. As the exception, all bunkers will be played as Ground Under Repair. If your ball ends up in a bunker, you may either play your ball as it lies (rake and place) or take free relief. To take relief, you must find the nearest point of complete relief outside the bunker and play from within one club-length of that point, no closer to the hole.
Sod seams in re-sodded areas, drain trenches, and exposed rocks added as topper for drainage systems should be considered Ground Under Repair from which free relief may be taken, no closer to the hole. Additionally, tire tracks, bare areas immediately adjacent to cart paths, and bare areas larger than a club length should be considered Ground Under Repair. DROP within one club-length of the nearest point of relief, no closer to the hole.
Tall grass and unmaintained sections of the course may be played as penalty areas. These areas include: the hill between the cart paths for the 4th and 5th holes, right of the 7th hole fairway, surrounding the back and left of the 11th green, right of the 13th fairway and surrounding the 13th green, right of the cart path on the 14th hole, on the hill between the 14th and 16th holes, right of the 15th hole and surrounding the 15th green. In the case you do not find your ball in these areas, follow the standard red penalty area dropping procedure.
Any player who does not meet the MGA 2-in-30 handicap posting policy or has not submitted a written appeal for exemption prior to play to [email protected] if they are unable to meet the requirement, will automatically play as a 0 handicap for Men’s Night.
This week’s format allows for the completion of a 9-hole round that is valid for handicap posting purposes. Men’s Night scores must be posted promptly to your handicap account. Any player who places but has not posted will have their score disqualified from payout and placement consideration.

With the 2022 edition of the NGC Club Championship officially in the books, we’d like to send a wholehearted thank you to all the NGC staff and members who made the weekend a fantastic success. Thank you to Terry and Donnee for the great 1st tee announcing and all the Pro Shop’s help throughout the weekend. Thank you to Basil, Jada, Chef Lois, Christine, and all the clubhouse staff who make NGC the place we want to spend our best days. Thank you to John Burns and all the course maintenance crew who got the course into excellent condition for the weekend’s play. Thank you to Mary Ann for being a truly helpful and member-focused GM. Finally, thank you to all the members who not only took part in playing but also hung out to enjoy the NGC camaraderie we all love and watch some great golf.
Club Championship Results
In all three of our flights, we saw some fantastic golf and tight battles down the stretch. In the Second Flight, Kevin Dick and Jack Sullivan both finished at +7 net for the weekend to share 1st place honors. In the First Flight, Leo Goff took the well deserved victory coming in at even par net total for the weekend and just edging out Daryl Stone who finished 2nd at +1 total. And in the Championship Flight, some very good golf across the board on Saturday carried into Sunday with a tight leaderboard down the stretch. On the 36th hole of the Championship, Kyle Armstrong stood on the 18th tee with a 1-shot lead over Patrick Escalambre, who had parred 7 holes in a row on the back, and a 2-shot lead over Jared Powell and Weston Happ, who had birdied #16 and #17 respectively. With the Championship on the line, Kyle hit a beautiful 6-iron to 15 feet and, like a true champion, rolled in the final birdie putt for a 2 to close out the Club Championship in style. Great finish and enjoy the parking spot sir!
We ask that all players who competed this weekend post their tournament rounds to GHIN as Tournament Scores. Any scores that have not been posted by midnight tonight will be posted by NGC this week.
For any players who would like to buy into the Skins pot for the 1st Round, please Venmo $20 to @Weston-Happ (6520) before your tee time tomorrow.
Food & Drinks
Doughnuts & coffee will be available for all Club Championship participants before tomorrow’s first round. On Sunday, lunch & drinks from the bar will be provided as groups finish their second round play.
